Ice cubes and water on the skin in black and white by Retinas images

This atmospheric black-and-white photograph shows an intimate close-up of skin, water droplets and small ice cubes. The cool cubes are scattered across the body and catch the light as clear, almost shimmering shapes. Against the deep, dark background, a powerful contrast emerges between cold and warmth, softness and sharpness. As the close-up reveals little context, the image takes on an abstract and mysterious quality.

The low-key lighting allows parts of the body to disappear into the shadows whilst emphasising the texture of the skin, the droplets and the contours of the ice cubes. Black and white renders the composition timeless and enhances the graphic rhythm of the points of light. The photograph is sensual in its subject matter and atmosphere, yet remains understated and artistic as the focus is on the details.

This photographic artwork fits beautifully into a modern interior with a bold, minimalist or wellness-inspired aesthetic. It works well hung in a bathroom, bedroom or private space, but also as distinctive fine-art photography in a gallery-style setting. A unique choice for lovers of artistic nudes, abstract body photography, water, ice and stylish black-and-white art.
