Abandoned places in the medieval town of Entrevaux in France in lockdown in January 2021. There is no one on the street. Here in the narrowest part of Rue de la Porte Royale. The bright sun makes the clear sky form a sharp contrast to the shadows on the tall facades. The pen drawing has been turned into a mosaic, in which the white surface of the clear sky and the shadow of the high facades play a leading role. The play of lines of the light on the old drainpipes gives extra depth and perspective. The result is an abstract work in which the symbolism of the Middle Ages comes to life again. Inspired by the impossible constructive in the work of Escher.
