The artwork shows a woman photographed from the back. The woman wears a white collar full of visible blue threads. A burnt match is visible as a small element on the collar.
The sculpture was created in response to a personal childhood memory. The sculpture is minimalist and evokes an atmosphere of serenity and tranquillity.
As a visual artist, I am fascinated by historical sites embedded in urban weaves and explore emotional responses to the environment by looking, feeling and taking away. Playing with me thoughts, I dig for deeper layers like an archaeologist to create 'from my mind' a new artwork as a transformation of feeling. But above all to hold on to what passes.
On the one hand, as an entity to emphasise the impossibility of capturing something so abstract. On the other hand, each time it is a small monument to give that feeling a place and a little hold.
