In the United Kingdom we visited a tea garden in Flatford and then a small park next to it with sample gardens. It was beautiful and was, except by people, also visited by all sorts of critters. Full of admiration we looked at these caterpillars. The plant had almost no leaves left and looked like a big cheese hole. The caterpillars came in all sizes, one had eaten itself even fuller than the other. A volunteer told us they were the caterpillars of the Mullein Moth. In Dutch, the Kuifvlinder, we looked up later. It is a moth. The caterpillar forages at night as well as during the day. The volunteer told us that the plant would later recover completely.
In any case, I took the opportunity to take some pictures of the caterpillars. The colors of the caterpillars were well suited for that.
It also resulted in a nice picture for the VillaJoepCollection 2022.
The proceeds of this photo (my commission) I will fully donate to the Villa Joep Foundation. So I sincerely hope that you order something beautiful from this special Villa Joep Collection for charity!
