About ‘Huize Welgelegen - Amsterdam’ by Tony Buijse

Huize Welgelegen, on Plantage Middenlaan, dates from 1750. Here lived the 'Inspector of the Living Have of ARTIS', Mr. A.F.J. Portielje.
The photo is executed in black and white and therefore gives it an artistic timeless look. Details are hereby emphasized in a beautiful way. Because color is missing, this can no longer give distraction. Composition, shapes, lines, fine gray nuances, structures and contrast ensure that this cityscape is a feast for the eyes and never bores.

Tony Buijse is a Dutch photographer, lives in IJsselstein and is best known for his reports that he makes of sports competitions and events.
His landscape photos and cityscapes have been shown at several exhibitions. Much of his photo work is available as wall decoration on Werkaandemuur. Most of these photos were taken during trips and excursions.
