The walk around the walls of the town of Pienza, Tuscany, Italy doesnt just reveal fabulous views of the Val DOrcia below. The edge of the town is lined with wonderful, traditional build, stone walled houses, some terraced houses, some apartments. Here we can see the edge of the town wall and glimpse of the view beyond. On the curve in the walkway sits a building with a street lamp fixed to the side. A traditional wooden door with a semi-circular metal window above is open on one side, showing stairways up to the apartments above. In front of that, a house sits with marble seats so the occupants can sit and enjoy the view and the cool breeze in the heat of summer. Terracotta pots sit in metal hangers on the wall. The wooden shutters are open. In front of the door way are some steps and on the top step is a wooden cat house - proving there are homes for everyone!
