About ‘Hirschhorn Castle’ by Thomas Riess

Castle ruins in Hirschhorn on the Neckar. Hirschhorn lies approximately 15 km east-northeast of Heidelberg (distance by road approx. 22 km) in the Odenwald-Neckar Valley. Here, the river has carved a deep double bend into the wooded heights of the red sandstone Odenwald. The Feuerberg (341.1 m above sea level), which rises above the Neckar Valley between Hirschhorn and Igelsbach, marks the start of a range of hills which, from here under the name Hirschhorner Höhe, stretches 13 kilometres northwards via the Steinerner Tisch (390 m above sea level) and the Langer Wald (474 m above sea level) to Rothenberg (420 m above sea level) and on to the Main–Neckar watershed near Beerfelden. With the exception of the district of Ersheim, which lies south of the Neckar on the gently sloping spur of its northern bend, Hirschhorn lies north of the river; Ersheim is also the only part of Hesse that lies south of the Neckar, or rather on the left bank of the Neckar. In Hirschhorn, the very short Laxbach flows into the Neckar; this stream is formed only within the village boundaries by the confluence of the long, narrow Odenwald streams Ulfenbach and Finkenbach, whose catchment area begins more than 20 km further north.

Made my first experiences with photography as an employee at CANON and now, after many stations, take photos digitally with the Pentax K1 MK II and various lenses. My main focus is difficult to define. Actually everything that comes in front of my lens and doesn't look like a snapshot. I always try to tell a little story with my pictures or at least to get the viewer's imagination going.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
