In a quiet, deserted room stands a solid wooden cupboard, on the top of which a row of old Brockhaus encyclopaedias are lined up, dusty and untouched. The bright blue spines of the encyclopaedias shine in the soft light that falls through the greyed window, as if to fill the room with the wisdom of days gone by. The cabinet itself is an imposing piece of furniture, marked by time but still possessing a special presence. The open door invites you to peer into the secrets that may still lie hidden within.
The dusty books and yellowed pages are reminiscent of an era when knowledge was recorded on paper and collected in heavy tomes. The slightly crumbling wall and the cracks in the ceiling tell of the long standstill and gradual decay of this place. The spirit of the past is almost tangible here, and the room seems to have absorbed the stories and knowledge of previous generations. It is a place that awakens silent reverence for the transience of human knowledge and at the same time celebrates the beauty of what has been preserved.
