Every walk through Central Delfland feels like a voyage of discovery. With my camera in hand, I go in search of nature's hidden beauty. Birds hide in the reeds or high in the trees, their song echoing before their silhouette becomes visible. It takes patience to capture these moments - peering into the canopy or sleuthing through the reeds, I wait for that one sign of life.
The Vockestaert, located between Delft and Schiedam, is one of my favourite spots. Here, I spotted my first Goldfinch and Bluethroat, but the Bearded Tit remains my most favourite discovery. These encounters form the basis of my art.
The resulting artwork is a combination of photography and digital editing. In MidJourney, I created an abstract, flowing background in warm tones, in which the Bearded Man takes centre stage. The watercolour-like textures and soft colour transitions give the work a dreamy, almost ethereal feel.
This artwork is not only a visual representation of nature, but also a source of tranquillity and inspiration. It fits perfectly into a variety of interior styles, from Scandinavian minimalism to rural warmth. Its natural elements and serene look bring a touch of the outdoors to any space.
