About "Helmet grass bows to rising sun"

About the artwork

I grew up on the edge of the woodland and heathland we see here and often walked there with Basje, our dog at the time. For a while, with my father and brother, we tried to maintain a section of the heathland by clearing bushes and 'weeds' during running laps.
I was a WWF ranger and member of IVN as a child and periodically contributed to the maintenance of this patch of sandy soil ecosystem. As a teenager, I often came there to muse and write bad weltschmertz poems. Katharsis lawemazegge - that all sounds friendly and fun, but I also remember the mischief we did. Setting fire to tussocks of marram grass with friends. Not to preserve the heath, but just, that was exciting and cool. Now - without betraying my age - say 35 years later, now emigrated, I find myself again on the same heath on a hazy sunrise with camera, filters at the ready, and what strikes me most of all are the cheerful clumps of grass bending towards the sun, creating a refined luminous atmosphere that makes me warm and happy despite the cold. They have survived the evil pranks of yesteryear and perhaps those of recent times. Perhaps too well, as the heather is less visible, but still, they bring a beautiful Dutch landscape to life.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
