Helga #1 is the starting point of a fiery series in which femininity and emotion fuse colourfully. This work marks the start of an expressive search for identity, strength and feeling - translated into powerful lines and vibrant colours.
Helga's face is partly hidden, partly revealed - composed of contrasting areas of colour that reflect the layering of her inner world. Pink, lemon yellow, cobalt blue and fluorescent green dance with each other in a rhythmic pattern of intuitive brushstrokes. Her eyes, sharp and self-conscious, are the anchor point of the work: they don't look away, they look back.
Helga #1 is a tribute to the female soul: mysterious, powerful, sensitive and elusive. A work that adds energy and character to any space.
