About ‘Height Kadijk - Kadijksplein - Amsterdam’ by Tony Buijse

Café with terrace on the corner of the Hoogte Kadijk and Kadijksplein.
The Kadijksplein got its name in 1919. The Kadijk was a summer quay in the IJ built in the 17th century.
The photo is executed in black and white and therefore gives it an artistic timeless look. Details are hereby emphasized in a beautiful way. Because color is missing, this can no longer give distraction. Composition, shapes, lines, fine gray nuances, structures and contrast ensure that this cityscape is a feast for the eyes and never bores.

Tony Buijse is a Dutch photographer, lives in IJsselstein and is best known for his reports that he makes of sports competitions and events.
His landscape photos and cityscapes have been shown at several exhibitions. Much of his photo work is available as wall decoration on Werkaandemuur. Most of these photos were taken during trips and excursions.
