About "Haunted, abandoned medieval house in Forza d'Agrò"

by Silva Wischeropp

About the artwork

This mysterious and architectural photo was taken in the small, tranquil mountain village of Forza d'Agrò on the island of Sicily in southern Italy. The tiny village achieved its popularity through the film adaptation of "The Godfather" (directed by Francis Ford Coppola). Several world-famous film scenes were shot here in the neighbouring Catholic churches. A visit to Forza d'Agrò has now become a special attraction for anyone travelling to Sicily.

Forza d'Agrò is a village in the metropolitan city of Messina in the region of Sicily in Italy with 931 inhabitants.

This abandoned, dilapidated, architectural house facade from the Middle Ages was taken on 29 October 2024 in the early evening hours with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR 24.0-70.0 mm f/2.8).

A real feast for the eyes and a visual treat for true lovers and fans of the category: Lost Places.
The photographic motif shows a decaying, yet very charming, medieval house façade in the tiny, tranquil mountain village of Forza d'Agrò on the island of Sicily in southern Italy.

The famous mountain village, which became world-famous as the location for the film "The Godfather", is located directly on the east coast of Sicily and is characterised by breathtaking, old and dilapidated houses, cobbled pavements, knightly castles and magnificent buildings in the style of the Middle Ages.
