About "Halle/Saale - Red Tower and Hausmann Towers"

About the artwork

Together with the Red Tower, the four towers of the Marktkirche give Halle's cityscape its unmistakable character.

The master builders Caspar Krafft and Nickel Hoffmann designed the church building between 1529 and 1554 on the site of two medieval churches, whose pairs of towers were inserted into the new building in an adapted form.

If the slender blue towers are impressive due to their height of 83 m, the unusual name "Hausmannstürme" ("Hausmann towers") of the eastern pair stands out. It goes back to a houseman who lived here as early as the 16th century, who monitored the city from a lofty height and sounded the alarm in the event of fire. The climb of around 225 steps gives visitors an extraordinary panoramic view of the Saale city.

The Red Tower is part of the landmark of the city of Halle (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt. This it forms together with the four towers of the market church Unser Lieben Frauen. Halle is often referred to as the City of Five Towers because of the distinctive silhouette of these two buildings. The tower burned out on April 16, 1945 due to artillery fire and lost its characteristic spire. Except for the tower reconstruction, it was restored.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
