About ‘Hafragilsfoss’ by Arnold van Wijk

Hafragilsfoss is a 27-meter-high waterfall in northeastern Iceland. It is located in the Jökulsá á Fjöllum, which, at 206 kilometers in length, is Iceland's second-longest glacier river. The river originates in the Vatnajökull glacier, and the muddy water forces its way towards the Arctic Ocean at a volume of more than 200,000 liters per second through a gorge over 100 meters high, 500 meters wide, and 25 km long. At Hafragilsfoss, the river cuts through the red-colored Randarhólar craters. Approximately 2 kilometers upstream from Hafragilsfoss lies Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe. This area is part of the Jökulsárgljúfur (Glacier River Gorge), one of Iceland's four National Parks since 1945.

I'm a Dutch landscape photographer, born in The Hague, june 18th 1966. I started making pictures at the age of 14, with a Yashica Minister III rangefinder. Landscape and Nature photography has always been my favorite subject, especially Italy, Scotland and Iceland are my favorite countries. I hope you will like my photographs.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
