Seagulls always fascinate me, and I have a suspicion, that I am not the only one in this. Beautiful white colour when mature, and majestic in the air, relaxed, and hanging on the wind.
They can be photographed in many ways; for this image, the camera's shutter speed was taken longer, bringing the gull's movement into focus. In addition, I pulled the camera along with the gull, giving the sea a bit of a sweep. The setting sun adds a pink colour to the whole image.
In the end, a dreaming, somewhat abstract image results, which radiates tranquillity.
Landscapes and townscapes are my favourite subjects. I search for beauty in the image; that can come from any of the compositional elements such as lines, shapes, rhythms, light/dark, colour combinations. For me a photograph is successful, when I can hang it on the wall.. Read more…
