About the artwork

This impressive photo shows a detailed view of the famous Padrão dos Descobrimentos - the Monument to the Discoveries on the banks of the Tagus in Lisbon. Photographed from an unusual perspective, the view is directed upwards towards Henry the Navigator, who is holding a stylised ship in his hands. Above him stretches an immaculate blue sky - a symbol of vastness, vision and departure.

The monument, which stands in the Belém district, honours the great Portuguese explorers of the 15th and 16th centuries. It is a reminder of the time when Portugal was one of the world's leading seafaring nations - with names such as Vasco da Gama, Pedro Álvares Cabral and Ferdinand Magellan. The monument itself not only houses exhibitions, but also offers a fantastic vantage point over the river and the city.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
