Green fern leaf growing against an old farm wall

by Diana van Neck Photography

This botanical nature photograph shows a beautiful color close-up of a soft green fern plant against the warm brown stone wall of an old authentic farmhouse. The soft green fern leaf grows stubbornly up against the stone wall. The focus here is clearly on the green fern leaf. The soft green leaves give a contrasting effect to the brown background of the wall. This creates a depth of field effect that makes the nature photo lively and playful. This depth of field effect is enhanced in this macro photo of the fern leaf by the choice of aperture. There are sharp and blurred areas in this nature photo, leading your eyes to the focused detail of the fern plant. In the focused part of the photo you can see every little imperfection of the green fern leaves. Wonderful to see how imperfectly beautiful nature can be.

I photographed this green fern at an old authentic Dutch farm in Gelderland, the old farm is in the middle of the forest. And because of that there are also beautiful forest plants growing in the yard of this farm, like this beautiful soft green fern.
This botanical macro nature photo of the fern leaves is a fine art must-have for almost any interior. But especially in a romantic interior with soft tones or a boho, bohemian, botanical interior with natural tones this nature photo comes into its own.Check out my collection for more nature photography .
