I photographed this green damselfly in the middle of summer in my garden. I had a hydrangea that had been pruned and needed to be replanted. This damselfly found it a suitable place to take a rest. Normally they are somewhat shy and fly away quickly if you get too close, but this one allowed me to get very close so I could take photos at my leisure. And here are the results. Stunning colours and details are visible when you can see the animal from so close up.
