Grand Hotel Karel V in Utrecht.
Opened in 1999, Grand Hotel Karel V is Utrecht's first five-star hotel. The building complex dates back to the 14th century and housed the Land Commandery of the Knightly Teutonic Order for about 450 years.
The hotel is named after Emperor Charles V, who is said to have found shelter in the building, together with his sister Mary of Hungary, for attending the chapter meeting of the Order of the Golden Fleece in 1546.
