Grand Anse is the main bay in the south-east of La Digue. It is a wild beach framed by rock formations and is one of the most beautiful on the island. It is usually deserted, as the way here is somewhat arduous.
Visitors usually come by bicycle. You can also walk, but then it takes about 45 minutes from La Passe.
Grand Anse has no offshore reef and thus no protection from the open sea. This means that the waves can be very high and the currents dangerous. Swimming is therefore not recommended here.
