This former building of the garment tailors was built in 1494 on the foundations of the first guild house from 1274. The medieval association of long-distance and wholesale merchants was called the "Worthgilde" in Goslar and was the most important guild capable of holding a council.
The house was run as an inn and hotel from 1831 and was renamed from "Die Worth" to "Kaiserworth" in 1836.
Like the Rammelsberg, Goslar's market square and thus also the former Kaiserworth guildhall were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.
