Sometimes not-so-obtrusive things are very special when you take a closer look at them. Take this cactus, for example. If you come across them in the garden centre, you might just walk past them. But if you look through my macro lens, you can only see how special they are.
The rhythmic placement of the spines is already beautiful to see. But also the spines themselves with the unusual shape and colours.
Also special is the fact how these plants are able to sustain themselves in the wild under harsh conditions. Most cacti are native to North, Central and South America. They are found there in deserts and steppes, but also on high mountain slopes, in jungles and even tropical rainforests. Regardless, the cactus is a master at adapting to living conditions.
This picture is a calm and botanical accent in your living room or conservatory. But of course it also fits well in a themed room like desert or America.
