Girl by a high chair, Govert Flinck An anonymous girl about three years old poses next to a high chair. She is beautifully dressed, has a garland of flowers on her head and wears gold chains and bracelets. And a gold rattle with rhinestone. This toddler's parents were clearly in very good spirits. Flinck painted with smooth and free brushstrokes, as he had learned from his teacher Rembrandt. But he painted the child's face in detail with subtle colours and fine glints that draw all the attention.
