The museum was designed by Frank Gehry a Canadian. In 2005, Gehry's design was considered the most important piece of architecture since 1980. At the time, US magazine Vanity Fair had asked 52 experts what they saw as the most important architectural work of the last 15 years. The Guggenheim Bilbao emerged as the winner. Even now, years after its construction, a large number of people still marvel daily at the complex design Gehry came up with for this museum. Every moment of the day has its charm. This is due to the combination of forms and the use of titanium. The use of titanium was groundbreaking. The way (solar) light and material work together leads to a beautiful result. We can't choose which we like better: the moment when the sunlight falls from the side and creates quite large contrasts or the moment after sunset when the sky is not yet completely dark (the blue hour).
In front of the museum is this giant spider .This ten-metre-high metal giant spider is by French artist Louise Bourgeois. Below the spider hangs a basket of eggs, impressive to see.
