Hundreds of streets swarm through the city. Often flat or slightly ascending (or descending), but sometimes very steep. Sometimes even so steep that steps have been built. It's wonderful to stroll through the streets of Rione Sanita, Quartieri Spagnoli, Vomero or Chiaia. Each of these interesting districts in the center of Naples.
Naples is especially known for its narrow and high streets where there are buildings with apartments that are three, four or five stories high and where the laundry hangs outside to dry. Often teeming with people (and tourists), it can sometimes be so quiet that you wonder if people even live there. But fortunately, it is never quiet for long in Naples.
