About ‘German Beach chairs, Rügen’ by Adelheid Smitt

Along the North German coast, especially on the Baltic coast, it is customary to use these traditional beach chairs when going to the beach. The so-called "Strandkörben" have been popular since the end of the 19th century. These "beach baskets" were photographed during the sunrise in Sellin on the island of Rügen.
