About "Geometric Inferno"

About the artwork

This sleek, abstract artwork is rooted in the architecture of the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam, a masterpiece of New Building. It is composed of a kaleidoscopic pattern of warm, beige/yellow tones and tight, contrasting black lines. The composition creates a sense of depth and optical illusion, as if looking into an architectural tunnel of distorted spaces. The lines in the background seem to undulate and curve, creating a dynamic, distorted effect, while the star-shaped opening in the centre reveals a deep, dark core.

My inspiration lay in the aesthetics of Functionalism, Optical Art (Op-Art) and the geometric perfection of the factory. I wanted to combine the warmth of colour (reminiscent of the light falling through the iconic windows) with the coolness of geometry to create a work that is both hypnotic and textured.

The mood is one of warmth, complexity and abstract elegance. The earthy colour creates a modern and graphic look with a clear link to the Dutch industrial heritage.

This image is special in modern and loft-style interiors. It adds a unique dimension of depth and abstract architecture to the space.

"Warmth in geometry; a hypnotic journey through the lines of the Van Nelle Factory, captured in architectural perfection."
