About the artwork

Antique postcard with photograph of people on Molenstraat in Geervliet in 1904

The oldest mention of Geervliet dates from 1179, after the rijkstol on the Bernisse, which was transferred to Count Floris III of Holland that year.

In the early 14th century, Geervliet became the administrative centre of the manor of Putten. The lords of Putten built their fortified farmstead into the Hof van Putten.

In 1381, Geervliet was granted city rights by Zweder van Abcoude. In the Middle Ages, Geervliet was protected by city walls, but was later largely destroyed by fire. However, the old centre can still be visited. There is also the Bernisse Mill, also a former restaurant, built on a former defence tower that was part of the town wall.

The municipality of Geervliet, which had been established on 1 January 1812, was dissolved on 1 January 1980. Geervliet then became part of the newly established municipality of Bernisse. Bernisse and Spijkenisse merged into the newly established municipality of Nissewaard on 1 January 2015.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
