A summer evening in August in the Gasterse Dunes in Drenthe.
After a long period of summer drought and heat waves, temperatures have dropped back to level pleasant.
The Scottish Highlanders in this area are therefore more active in the field again and quietly graze around me. Of course, I keep an appropriate distance.
The last sunlight falls beautifully on the birches in the background and makes the whole a somewhat dreamy picture. I love it.
Despite the fact that the goal of the evening was to photograph the flowering heather, I am very happy with this alternative.
The heather was a lot less purple and bright than hoped. Again, I'm sure the prolonged drought and heat played a role in this.
