Went out last night, against my better judgment, to do a short galaxy session. I had found this house on Google maps which was perfect for a galaxy shot. Now, at this time of the year, the sun stays so high below the horizon that there is quite a lot of (photographic) light to be seen, even deep in the night! This can be disadvantageous for the Milky Way and other astrophotographs. Still, I could not hold back to go anyway, and I am so glad I went anyway. In the north there was indeed some light to be seen, fortunately in the direction of the Milky Way it was not that bad. After staying in the dark for about 1.5 hours, not meeting anyone, just enjoying the sounds of frogs and birds, a clear sky with shooting stars and being startled by 2 deer coming 10m next to me, it was time to go. A picture with a story.
