About ‘Frozen boat on the lake’ by Martijn Smeets

This photo was taken near the Punkaharju headland in Finland. The 7km long strip separates two lakes, making it traditionally an important connecting route.

In winter, the lakes are used for ice fishing and winter sports. But in summer, the lake is the perfect place for boating.
