About the artwork

Second of two sister images titled “Frozen Cathedral.”
The face of the Perito Moreno Glacier rises like an icy cathedral in the stillness of Patagonia. Its crystalline formations, sculpted by time and cold, glow with deep blues that contrast with the calm grey waters below.
The light, cold and sharp, turns the ice into sculptural matter — almost mystical. Vertical lines follow one another in rhythm and harmony, as if nature had carved a living bas-relief onto the surface of time.
But this silent beauty is only apparent. The glacier is alive, moving, slowly yet relentlessly advancing into the valley. It creaks, groans, roars — deep sounds rise from the heart of the ice, heralding sudden collapses that thunder down from its walls. It is an ancient, primal sound that breaks the silence and reminds us that even what seems eternal is moving, transforming.
Before this massive, pulsing body, one feels in the presence of something that has always breathed — a giant that never sleeps. And all you can do is stand still, almost entranced in silence, and listen.
