About ‘From the marram grass over the beach | Sand Motor Monster, Netherlands’ by Wandeldingen

On the South Holland coast near Monster lies an extraordinary stretch of beach, the Sand Motor. In 2011, a peninsula of 21.5 million cubic metres of sand was created off the coast of Kijkduin. Wind and currents spread the sand along the coast and towards the dunes. The aim is to strengthen the coast in the long term and create a dynamic nature and recreation area, a special and fantastic place to walk and play with a photo camera. In winter 2023, I took a beach walk and photographed different spots of the beach.
