From the heart of the glacier by Judith Kuhn

This image captures the striking view from the massive entrance of a glacial cave out into a quiet, wintry world. The massive ice walls framing the image shimmer in intense shades of turquoise and blue, revealing a fascinating structure of frozen layers, cracks and natural patterns. Lying on the ground are large, broken chunks of ice that look like crystalline fragments of an ancient being.

Outside, an almost monochrome landscape unfolds: a snow-covered mountainside, above which heavy, grey clouds dim the light and create a mysterious, almost meditative atmosphere. The inspiration for this work lies in the raw beauty of the glacial world – a place where time seems to pass more slowly and nature speaks its own, silent language.

The atmosphere of the image is cool, clear and at the same time soothing. It conveys the feeling of standing on the threshold between shelter and vastness: inside, the powerful structure of the ice; outside, the open, wintry silence. The message of the work is an invitation to focus on the essentials and discover tranquillity in nature.

Technically, the image thrives on the precise depiction of the ice textures and a gentle digital enhancement that emphasises depth and nuances of light. In an interior setting, this artwork becomes a powerful haven of calm, lending rooms a modern, clear and yet poetic feel.
