About the artwork

Fresh Air at Sea is a digital artwork created by a fusion between a drawing and a painting. The drawing was created using drawing techniques of pencil and charcoal and the painting consists of multiple layers of various painting techniques.

The work was inspired by a photograph I took in the dunes near Kwade Hoek. It was springtime. The helmet was still tinged with brown but wonderfully full. The sun was shining and a moderate to strong wind was blowing.

That grass on the dunes always attracts me. I especially like the way it moves in the wind and how the sunshine can lighten it up beautifully. That is what I wanted to emphasize in this work of art. The gradient of color created by the sunlight and the wavy lines in the grass.

I also feel that there is a strong wind because the beach grass is pushed back by an invisible force. This work of art makes me think I am on the beach at the foot of the dunes, getting a breath of fresh air.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
