Frederick Trapp-Friis (1865-1909) was a Swedish-American painter known for his Impressionist landscapes and portraits. Born in Malmö, Sweden, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen as well as in Munich, Vienna and Paris. From 1890-1891 he continued his training at the Art Students League in New York before settling in New Bedford, Massachusetts, where he worked as an illustrator for the Taber-Prang Company.
