The Frauenkirche in Dresden is an icon that fills the skyline of the Elbflorenz beautifully. After the bombardment of Dresden by the English in February 1945, the church was completely destroyed. The inhabitants of Dresden fought until after Die Wende to rebuild the church. In 2005, the rebuilt church was opened: An icon of Dresden was reinstated.
