Cunning, clever and fascinating - these are the characteristics of this fox, a mammal found in almost all of the Netherlands (and perhaps all of Europe). Peering at its prey, the animal waits for its chance to pounce on its prey. Mice, rabbits, eggs or hares are not safe when this fox gets them in its sights. I painted the head of this fox using oil paint or panel. I usually work with acrylic paint or watercolour, but after painting this fox with oil paint, I was sold: the result is great thanks to the creamy material into which I scratched the whiskers with a skewer. And yes...now the question is whose wall this realistic painting will hang on. The original is not that big: only 21 x 21 cm....precisely big enough to serve as a wedding present for a couple friend. A fitting present for them in particular, as their surname is 'Vos'. In not too long this fox will be hanging on the wall of the Vos family and who knows, maybe on yours too!
