Fox in the snow of Gran Paradiso

by Patrick van Os

This photo shows a fox amid the snow-covered mountains of Gran Paradiso National Park in Italy. The fox, with its thick winter coat and curious gaze, provides a special contrast to the bright white snow and rugged rocks of the landscape. One of Italy's oldest national parks, Gran Paradiso is known for its pristine nature, high mountain peaks and rich animal life. The park is an ideal place for nature lovers and photographers looking for unique encounters with wildlife in their natural habitat.

The red fox (Vulpes vulpes) is one of Europe's most versatile predators and is perfectly adapted to a variety of habitats, from lowlands to mountain areas. In winter, they are often more visible against the white snow, making moments like these extra special. This shot captures not only the beauty of the fox, but also the serene and quiet atmosphere of a winter day in the Italian Alps.

Whether you are a nature lover, photographer or traveller, this image perfectly captures the magic of a fox in the snow in Gran Paradiso.
