Forbidden City, Beijing: an abstract panorama

by TheXclusive Art

The ‘Forbidden City, Beijing’ abstract panorama painting brings China’s imperial palace complex to life in a sweeping and captivating panorama, in which the tiered roofs, the red walls and the vast expanse of clouds above combine to form a majestic scene that feels both grand and serene. This exceptional work of art depicts the city from a bird’s-eye view in the warm light of late afternoon, with the soft, layered paint texture in the clouds and the delicate roof tiles capturing its splendour in an artistic and contemporary manner. The vermilion, gold and peach-coloured hues lend the whole a radiant appearance that subtly yet powerfully reflects Beijing’s imperial past.

The central pavilion roofs form the heart of the composition, whilst the regular rows of roofs surrounding them and the towering, billowing clouds on the horizon create a beautiful interplay of order and movement.

The warm colours and rich details make this panorama a fine choice for a classic, oriental-inspired or contemporary interior. Hung on the wall of a living room, dining room or bedroom, it creates a golden ambience, whilst above a sofa or in a bright hallway, it lends the wall a stately air.

Anyone who loves China, history and monumental architecture will find in this painting an impressive depiction of one of the world’s greatest palaces.
