Texel pronounced in Tessels and usually also in Standard Dutch: Tessel) is the largest Dutch Wadden Sea island. It belongs to the province of North Holland. The municipality of Texel covers the entire island plus the uninhabited island of Noorderhaaks.
The island has a land area of about 170 km². The length of Texel is twenty km and the average width eight km. The surface area of the municipality is 585.96 km², most of which (416.14 km²) is inland and outlying water. Texel has 13,814 inhabitants (1 January 2024, source: CBS). Of the working population of over 3,500, about 17% work in agriculture.
My husband ( Arie Lok ) and I are both fanatical photographers so we regularly go out together to photograph beautiful landscapes, animals, birds and actually everything that is beautiful.
