Windless misty sunrises like these continue to fascinate me photographically. Even simple landscapes, like this farm ditch in the polders of Alblasserwaard in South Holland, take on an almost magical quality with mist and early morning light. Here, the sun was just not yet up (or maybe it was but could not be seen through the mist) and the amount of mist varied by the minute. With that, the view of the landscape also varied, so every photo I took here was different from the previous - and the next. This is my favourite of the series I took here, with the fence and the trees (and the trees just behind it) just visible in the fog.
