That I wanted to photograph this birch - I think they are my favourite trees - together with this heather was a given. On the way to this field, I already noticed that there were some clouds in the sky. What luck, that was bound to be a great photo! Arriving at the intended spot, I realised that the tree would fall exactly in front of the cloud if I wanted to take the heath in the foreground. So let's try something else... Once the sun was up and I wanted to leave, I passed this composition again. The cloud had now moved and was on the other side of the tree. With my tripod (incl. camera) still in my hand, I decide it would be best if I put it down to take a photo. The photo turns out to be the best in the series. Just a pity the cloud no longer has a pink border.
