About ‘Fishermen at Sunrise – Abstract Figures at Sea’ by Whale & Sons

An abstract work featuring an elongated figure rendered in soft shades of grey and green. The form is vague and partially dissolved into the background, causing the figure to almost blend into its surroundings. Beneath the figure appears a second, blurred form that feels like a reflection in the water.
Together, these forms evoke the image of a lone fisherman in his boat on a calm sea. The still water reflects the boat and the figure, whilst the first light of dawn glows softly through the image. The slight blurring and the vertical orientation create a calm, subdued atmosphere in which sea, light and figure slowly merge into one another.
This work fits well within modern interiors, coastal or maritime-inspired spaces, and art collections where subtle figuration and atmospheric abstraction come together.
