Deep in Namibia's rugged landscape, Fish River Canyon winds its way through the earth like a timeless masterpiece of nature. At 160 kilometres long and up to 550 metres deep, it is Africa's largest canyon and one of the most spectacular gorges in the world.
The sheer rock walls, formed by millions of years of erosion, create a dramatic contrast to the endless, dry plains above. At sunrise and sunset, the changing colours of the rocks cast a magical light over the landscape, while the meandering river below remains a source of life in this arid wilderness.
