Komodo National Park in Indonesia is world-famous for its breathtaking underwater world teeming with tropical fish and coral. The area is particularly renowned for encounters with manta rays, turtles and sharks, as well as the unique combination of these marine creatures with the famous Komodo dragons on land.
The most important practical details for a trip to Komodo from the Netherlands:
1. How do you get there? You fly from the Netherlands (e.g. Amsterdam Schiphol) to the international airport in Bali (Denpasar) or Jakarta. From there, you take a domestic flight (approx. 1.5 hours) to Labuan Bajo, the port town on the island of Flores that serves as a base. Popular airlines for this domestic flight are Wings Air, Nam Air and Garuda Indonesia.
2. Best time to visit The best time for diving and snorkelling is the dry season, which runs from May to October. During this period, the sea is at its calmest and underwater visibility is at its best. The rainy season lasts from December to March and is less ideal for a boat trip.
3. Fishing and diving in Komodo

The waters around the islands have strong currents, which attract plenty of food and, consequently, many large fish species. Well-known dive sites and hotspots include:
Manta Point: The best spot for snorkelling or diving with large manta rays.
Castle Rock: A well-known dive site in the north where you can often spot reef sharks, mackerel and large schools of fish.
Batu Balong: A spectacular rock face with an enormous diversity of coral, scorpionfish and whitetip sharks.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
