About the artwork

einde winter

late winter
the first bird song of the year
spring is on its way

A robin sits on a tree in the early morning and welcomes the new day with a beautiful song. The morning sky glows in soft pastel colours of blue, yellow and pink in this hand-painted acrylic painting by artist Karen Kaspar in portrait format.

This work, a combination of painting and haiku, is a joint project by Karen Kaspar (© art and artwork) and Marjolein Rotsteeg (© Haiku).
A haiku is a traditional Japanese poetry form consisting of three lines.

Here the acrylic painting was completed with the haiku in Dutch. In my portfolio there is also a variant with the poem in English (see album 'Haiku and Painting English'). The painting is also available without text (see album 'Birds').

You can find more paintings with haiku and poems in my albums 'Haiku and Painting English' and 'Haiku and Painting Dutch'. New works are constantly being added to the albums. So keep checking back from time to time!
