About "Fire tower Kalmthoutse heide: a landmark"

About the artwork

At the end of December, I set out with my camera across the Kalmthoutse Heide. It was cold - around 4°C - and the weather alternated between sunshine and showers. Beautiful light, big puddles on the paths, sunny and dramatic skies.

Being outside, breathing, enjoying. I felt free, and glad I had my camera with me to capture the beauty around me.

The new fire tower, central in this photo, it has been the face of the Kalmthoutse Heide since 2021. Installation started in October 2021. It is a modern design: a slender tower in steel combined with wood. The viewing platform offers an overwhelming view of the Border Park.

The project was co-created by Ferox, a company in our village. A wonderful interweaving of local craftsmanship and nature experience.

This photo finds touches both landscape photography and architecture: a moment when nature and design meet in a powerful, quiet image.

This photo captures not only a moment, but also a feeling: of peace, space, admiration. For those who know the Kalmthoutse Heide, this image is recognisable and new at the same time. For those who have yet to discover her, hopefully an invitation.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
