Zebra stallions have a short fuse and especially during the time the mares are fertile they regularly get into fights with each other. Things get pretty fierce then, as this photo shows. Their fighting technique is ruthless and mean; they try to bite each other's balls off. Usually such a fight does not last much longer than a minute and as a photographer you have to be pretty alert to capture it. I photographed these fighting Zebras in Etosha national park in northern Namibia. The background was blurred to make the fight look better.
